Hyun-Sue SHEEN

Patent Attorney

Hyun-Sue Sheen has had extensive experience filing patent applications with the KIPO and successfully representing prominent international high technology companies in patent filings, responses to office actions, appeals of final rejections and patent registrations.

Mr. Sheen worked at Lee International from 2004 to 2019 and returned after he left the Firm in 2019. When he left the Firm, he served as representative patent attorney at Song & Sheen IP Law Group, where he gained expertise and experience in patent entitlement in various fields of electronic technology.

Mr. Sheen authored an article concerning Korean patent practices that was published in a leading magazine that discusses the economy in Asia, The Daily, NNA No. 03320. In 2012, he gave a presentation on “Trends in Revisions to the Korean Patent Act” in a seminar jointly held by the Korean and Japanese Patent Attorneys Associations.

Mr. Sheen is a graduate of Seoul National University with a B.S. in electrical & electronics engineering (2001). He also completed the Japanese language course at Keio University International Center in 2011.

Mr. Sheen is fluent in both English and Japanese and in 2019, he gave a presentation at a seminar held by the Japan Patent Office in Tokyo under the topic of “the latest trends and directions of South Korea’s patent examinations and trials”.
