Soo-Won Lee, a Senior Advisor at Lee International, was invited to speak at a web seminar on ‘Patents for Innovation,’ which is jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on October 21, 2021.

During the seminar, Lee presented a graph analyzing the correlation between patents and Korea’s economic growth over the past 50 years under the title ‘IP and Economic Growth.  He emphasized that there is a need to strengthen the patent system as the patents are a leading or coincident indicator of economic growth.

Seven (7) officials from the intellectual property offices of the United States, Korea, Japan, and China attended as speakers in this web seminar, and nearly 60 participants accessed it online.
